How we earn money

Swiss Detours is independent. Nobody pays us to write about a place, and we pay for our trips, tickets and accommodation ourselves. So how does the website pay for itself? Through affiliate links.

What an affiliate link is

Some links on this website lead to booking platforms such as GetYourGuide, Viator or Booking.com. If you book through such a link, the platform pays us a small commission. The price stays exactly the same for you. We mark these links and boxes with the word “Ad”.

Our rules

• We only recommend places we have visited ourselves. The date of our visit is shown at the top of each guide.
• “Our pick” only appears on tickets we bought ourselves. Everything else is labelled as popular tours.
• If a tour or ticket is not worth the money, we say so, even if it would earn a commission.
• Prices come from the official operators and carry an “as of” date. We do not invent discounts.
• No pop-ups, no sponsored posts presented as editorial content.
